We \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003echose to locate\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e the catch can on the frame rail toward the vehicle's rear. The other consideration we had to take into account was crankcase pressure. The key to maximizing power output for a given tune is \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003eto get\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e the most efficiency possible. Any crankcase pressure directly reduces maximum power. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003eThe\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e proximity of our chosen catch can location meant that we had to lengthen the hose from the valve cover to the catch can itself.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003eAnyone with a basic physics understanding knows that \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003eas hose length increases, so does the resistance to flow\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e Rather than go the easy route of supplying the same ID hose, we had a custom-made hose that \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003eincreased\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e the diameter of the hose for most of the run from the valve cover to the catch can. The increased diameter reduces backpressure in the crankcase and allows for maximum engine efficiency. Lastly, we carefully considered the draining process of the catch can\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e,\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e meaning we wanted it to be easy and clean to drain. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003eOur catch can include a stainless steel petcock, stainless elbow, and routing for the drain hose, which \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003eis hidden\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e by the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003ebodywork of the vehicle\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003eTo empty the catch can, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003esimply\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e put a suitable container on the ground below the drain hose and open the petcock until all the fluid \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003eis drained\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e Simple, easy \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003eand\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e clean.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003eWhat is an oil catch can \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003eand\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"\u003e why do you need one?
